Availability Monitor
Having confidence in your service availability is fundamental requirement for any business use of the Internet. Using ICMP, TCP or UDP, ISMon’s Probes regularly check your hosts can be reached. The use of selectable protocols ensures the tests pass through the firewall protecting your host from hostile activity. Designed to run frequently, the test has a small footprint to avoid any impact on the service your host provides.
Service Monitor
Even if your host is available, it may not be working correctly. ISMon’s Service Monitors regularly exercise your service to ensure its correct operation. The Service Monitors have a larger footprint and so normally run hourly to exchange data with your server. Configuration options allow for checking returned data for access permissions. size and content. The list of internet services tested by ISMon is continually growing and we can consider a bespoke test if you want to probe an in-house application.
Alerts
ISMon has 3 levels of status: Working, Problem and Unavailable. Any change in status will result in an alert being sent to the configured contact. All alerts are sent by email giving you the flexibility to direct them to the mailbox of a responsible person or to a messaging system for conversion to a paging or text call.
Reports
Summary Reports are regularly compiled and sent to a contact of your choice. These contain the current status of your tests and a history of alerts and suspicious responses.
Configuration
Control over your account is provided via a secure connection to our Web server. You can easily change the parameters for your tests in a real time environment. You will also have access to an online view of your systems’ current status and a detailed alert history.
